Founder’s Vision: Building Legacy, Rebuilding Community, and Strengthening Black Wall Street

There is something powerful about building with purpose. Behind The Original Black Wall Street  stands founder and CEO Dr. Angela K. Chambers, a visionary who believes that communities grow stronger when people intentionally support one another, invest in businesses, and create opportunities for future generations.

For Dr. Chambers, this journey has always been about more than radio, media, advertising, or business. It has been about restoring legacy, rebuilding connections, and creating an ecosystem where entrepreneurs, creators, leaders, and families can thrive together.

Located on historic Greenwood Avenue in Tulsa, Oklahoma—the home of the original Black Wall Street—the platform continues to grow as a media and business movement dedicated to uplifting Black-owned businesses and strengthening communities through collaboration and exposure.

"I don't want to simply build a business; I want to help build people, opportunities, and community," is a belief reflected throughout Dr. Chambers’ work.

Through radio programming, digital and print publications, community partnerships, business promotions, interviews, virtual business opportunities, and outreach initiatives, the mission continues to focus on helping people gain visibility while creating pathways toward growth.

Dr. Chambers envisions The Original Black Wall Street becoming a pillar within the community—a place where businesses are not competing for survival, but connecting and collaborating for success. A place where entrepreneurs are encouraged, stories are celebrated, and support becomes a culture rather than an occasional act.

Her vision reaches far beyond today. She hopes to see:
• Businesses supporting businesses
• Stronger economic circulation within communities
• Greater visibility for entrepreneurs
• Expanded educational opportunities
• Youth engagement and leadership development
• Positive storytelling through media
• Historic Greenwood continuing to thrive and grow

The belief is simple: when communities intentionally support one another, everyone wins.

As The Original Black Wall Street continues expanding its reach, Dr. Chambers remains committed to helping elevate voices, preserve history, create opportunities, and remind people that legacy is not simply something inherited—it is something built.
