FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Advocacy Day at the Oklahoma State Capitol to Address Justice Reform, Accountability, and Family Impact

Oklahoma City, OK — March 12, 2026 — Community leaders, advocacy organizations, and impacted families will gather at the Oklahoma State Capitol for Advocacy Day at the Capitol, a focused call to action centered on justice reform, accountability, and humane treatment within Oklahoma’s correctional system.

The event will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Oklahoma State Capitol, 2300 N. Lincoln Blvd., Conference Room 453 (4th Floor), Oklahoma City, OK 73105.
Advocacy Day is being organized by Hooked on Justice, The Real Prisonwives of Oklahoma, and the NAACP Tulsa Branch, bringing together families, community advocates, and policy leaders to elevate urgent concerns and pursue meaningful reform.

Key Issues to Be Addressed:
Neglect – Addressing lack of basic needs, denial of medical care, untreated injuries, withheld medication, malnutrition, and mental health concerns.
Accountability – Exposing systemic failures and demanding oversight within correctional and legal institutions.
Justice Reform – Promoting transparency, fairness, rehabilitation, and policies that prioritize human dignity.

Organizers emphasize that families across Oklahoma have experienced significant hardship due to systemic failures within correctional institutions. Advocacy Day provides a structured platform for those directly impacted to share their stories and engage with lawmakers and state leaders.

The event reflects a growing movement within Oklahoma to ensure that justice systems uphold both constitutional rights and fundamental human dignity.

Advocacy Day at the Capitol is featured in the March Women’s History Month Edition of The Original Black Wall Street Magazine, which continues its commitment to amplifying community voices, elevating civic engagement, and highlighting initiatives impacting Black communities and beyond.
Community members, advocates, and concerned citizens are encouraged to attend and participate in this important civic engagement opportunity.
