Tulsa Branch of the NAACP Reinstated Under the Leadership of President Mareo Johnson

The Tulsa community celebrates the reinstatement of the NAACP Tulsa Branch #6143 under the leadership of its newly elected President, Mareo Johnson. A longtime advocate for justice and equality, Johnson has been deeply rooted in the organization and the ongoing fight for fair treatment.

For the past year, Johnson has worked tirelessly to address the organizational challenges that led to the branch’s prior termination by the National NAACP. His persistence and commitment to rebuilding the Tulsa Branch have paid off, restoring an essential community institution at a time when advocacy, unity, and accountability are more vital than ever.

The NAACP Tulsa Branch #6143 will continue to serve as a voice for the voiceless, working to advance policies that promote equality, dismantle systemic racism, and ensure fair treatment for all citizens. Under Johnson’s leadership, the Branch plans to reestablish programs, strengthen community partnerships, and increase membership engagement to empower residents and advocate for change.

As Tulsa’s historical legacy as the home of Black Wall Street continues to inspire generations, the reinstatement of this local branch stands as a reminder that the fight for justice and equality remains ongoing.
